My 930 tranny casting has provision for sight glass for oil level.
Talked to bro about this and late production 30 series trannys were cast to make use of sight glasses for oil level.

Bro, every 69 model I have seen has the raised area for the sight glass,, I want to find one of the test ones they actually installed the glass on,,, I will see if I can get some shots of mine,, I see its a bit later serial # than yours too

Hmmmm, interesting, I have not seen that yet. It brings up another question though, when they decided to use those in production on the 70 series the 7-1170's had the glasses on the other side. Rod.

I think Rod they put them on the rH side to hide them during testing,, and you must have forgot that you crawled under mine to see the pad on my 930

Here is my 930, it is serial number 8358445, it has the the same raised casting for sight glasses, and a trans serial number tag.

hello ; my 1969 1030 serial# 8366063[built apr.7,1969 and rear end #2270736 is also that same way.it has to be one of the lastest built since they quit building the 30 series in may,1969. I also have the first 70 series 2 wheel drive tractor ever built [march 27,1969] and it has the 2 sight glasses on the left side [trans#2335001] even though it was built before the 1030 was. hope this helps in your discussion. john thierer
