I was wondering if someone can tell me what year we have ...serial # 6000017 ... I know on lower #'s how to take 4 from the 1st 2 #'s .... but not sure how to do it with a 6 # ...

Mark, I see 7 numbers? Deduct 4 from the first two, makes it a 57 the way I see it.

YES that's my serial # ..... I remember because it's easy one to remember ... 6 then 4 zeros and 17 ....

It is a 1953 model.
About half way through 1953 Case switched to the first 2 starting numbers at Rock Island and 80 at Racine. You have to have a book to look it up as the old formula no longer works. Nick
