VAC Torque Tube/Transmission Leak

I am slowly picking at my VAC-14. I hope my brakes are in working order.

While I have the rear end drained (switched out axle seals) I have an oil leak on top where the torque tube meets the transmission I need to address. I have run the tractor so little, I am unsure, but I think it's transmission oil as opposed to hydraulic oil. What would be causing this? I am sure nothing is overfilled.

If I knew what was causing the problem it would help, but I am considering just separating the housings a little and sealing with permatex.

Any ideas what's causing the leak? All systems seem to be operating correctly.

Thank you,

s,mac has a good idea. Clean it all up and pull the cover and see if that is it. I know my lift cover leaks on my 51 VAC.

lest you don't have nuthin better to do and like pullin wrenches ,, if it were mine I would get a qt of lucas hub sealer for the tranny ,, get the hydraulic or p steering sealer for the hydraulix,,.. most the time it solved my problem if the seals are not shot completely ,,..

No. I wiped it clean & can see it weep from the break between housings. Does that housing gasket hold transmission/gear lube? I assume so.

On the two I restored I made a gasket for that mating. Do not remember if there was one there or not. Do not see how it would seal with out one. Steve
