530 Year? and "ride height"

Just picked up a 530 Case-o-Matic , the serial number is missing so I'm trying to figure out the year. The engine serial # is 2002226, it has 12.4x28 rears on cast spoked wheels and 6.00 x16's on the front. according to everything I have found it "should" have 14.9x24 rears and 7.50x16 fronts. Big deal on the fronts just change the tire size but the rears are too short although the are about the same diameter as the factory size (supposedly). The tractor looks like it's running uphill. from the side it looks as though the rear is about 8-9 inches lower than the front. The engine does NOT have 2 fuel filters on the left side behind the injection pump, just one fuel filter under the tank. OK, my questions are 1) with the engine serial number and the filter location can anyone give me an "educated" guess on the year and 2) what 28" rear tire will give me a taller diameter to get the tractor more level? Thanks all and Merry Christmas. Bob

Bob,

Your 530 would have had a serial number between 8191147 and 8212357. That would make it between mid-year 1962 and mid-year. The power steering system you have started with serial number 8191147, and the single fuel filter was replaced with dual filters beginning with serial number 8212357.

Standard equipment tires for your Row-Crop variant would have been 12.4x28 or 13.6.28 and 5.50 x 16 front tri-ribs (6.00 x 16 were an option)

The utility version of the 530s had 24" rears

Here is an early 530 row-crop with 13.6x28s and 6:00x16 tires. The pic is a little dark, but the tractor sits very close to level.

Over the years, could someone have put a row crop wide front axle under the front end?
