I posted a while back with a few pics from what we were told was a combine engine, but no further information. We are thinking it is a 188 from a 600. CNT asked to take a picture of the dipstick, so here's that. Also, where is the block casting number on this series, I didn't look long but it wasn't immediately obvious to me where it was located.

Looks just like the 188 gas in my 600 combine, I will go and take a few pics of it for you as well as a 201 in my 660 for comparison

your oil filter stands up,, all 201 engines I have here all lay down, they use the same # heads so that does not tell us anything, my 188 is dirty from use so I did not look at the serial plate, my 201's are stamped 201 on the serial tags, I could not get a good pic as I had not grabbed a flashlight, a 188 us still my bet, I forgot to look real well for a block # sorry, the first one is my 188 in the 600 the second is the 201 in the 660

I own a CAE 610B with the 188 Gas installed from my Neighbours 600 case COMBINE. I have another 188 Gas ENGINE for parts also from another Neighbours case 600 Combine.

Thanks D and CNT. I've searched and looked through a bunch of pics tonight. I agree it sure looks like a 188. Now to find a tractor or combine to put it in :)
