VAO Production vs VAO-15

Just a question wondering what numbers of VAO were built. This website lists some 6300 VAO or so. I wonder if that includes the VAO -15 which I am told started in 1953. My VAO is a 52 by the serial number. I set the timing and the carburetor and put my 6 ft blade on it for snow duty for the smaller storms. It is running like a top now.

Per Case tractors buyers guide by Peter Letourneau, total production of the VAO was 6927 for the years of 1942, 1945-1955 and that includes the VAO-15 which was introduced in 1953. Cannot find info so far as to just how many VAO-15's were produced.

Thanks Jim. When I said 6300 and some, I was going by this website which says 6326 VAO's. I may try to get a production build sheet for mine.
BTW does anyone have any dimensions on the hood prop rod size and length? Mine is missing and I think I can make one. They are wood I believe.

Dark in my shed now. If you want to make one, will get dimensions tomorrow and post them for you. They were oak and won't take you long to make one.

Jim, I would appreciate that. The one on Ebay, the guy does not ship to Canada, so it would work great if I could just make one.

Sorry, should have gotten back to you earlier. It's a piece of oak, 18 and 1/2" long, 1/2" wide so it goes into top bracket attached to underside of hood, 3/4" to 7/8" thick. The top hole for the 1/4" bolt is 3/4" from the top of the oak. You will need to round off the corners to make a half moon so it will clear hood when swinging it down to engage valve cover or forward strap on gas tank. (depends on how high you want hood to be when working on engine) You will need to bevel bottom edge where it rests so that the point holds in valve cover or tank strap. Mine isn't a full 45 degree though. Hope this helps. Hollar if you need more info.
