In a earlier post it is mentioned a 201 engine from a crawler. I had know idea those engines were used in anything else other that the 660 combines. What else would have used them? Rod.

Rod the 201 engine was the same length as a 188 diesel so it could have been solved in wherever a 188 was but I am with you as far as I know it was never used in that application the 188 gas was the same length but the 201 and 188's are about an inch and a quarter longer than the 159's

I checked the Casece parts site and found only 159 gas and 188 diesel in the 580B series, 580C series 207 with no gas option and the 580 D with the 207 both naturally aspirated and turboed. The 188 Gas was iin the 450 Gas crawlers as well as the 188 diesel. These are the units I am most familiar with and there may be other lines of equipment that used the 201 gas as well as the 188 gas, as far as I know there was never a 207 made in gas configuration but working with things that come up on forum, I'll never say never.

I was sure a 584 forklift I worked on had the 201 but again I may be wrong, we only sold one 580CK gas the first one we ever sold , from that point on all had the dsl power plants, I too looked on line for info on the cnh parts site, they seem to have less info than my paper parts books, big surprise, I thought a 450 book listed both gas engines but again I can be wrong very easy, I know the biggest gas power they used in a swather was the 188 gas or dsl in the 1255, I seem to remember them making power units with the 201 though

You are correct, we sold a couple of 188 gassers in the early 450s,for pullers we put a couple 201 s in 350--511Bs but the steering shaft has to be lengthened and rear hood bolt holes relocated, the two bolt--3 bolt starter flange is eeasily worker out. Mel

Thanks guys for the info. I do have a 201 salvaged from a 660, I checked and it will not bolt up to my VAC. What models will this bolt up too?
