Case 930lp 6 speed Cam shaft

Travis,

I do not think that you are limited to the 6 speed cam, I believe later cams will fit, i could stand corrected on that but I think even the cranks will interchange.

Someone else may come on and correct that if I am in error and opinions are welcome, A lot of the things we run into someone else has done earlier so all info is valuable.

The 8 speed camshaft will fit, but it is a different grind. The 6 speed has a PTO engine speed of 1450 RPM, and the 8 speed is 1950. The cam grind is such that they lug the best at PTO speed. The 6 speed will lug all day at 1200 RPM, but the 8 speed falls out of bed at about 1600.

Just guessing but Travis is a weekend warrior on the pulling tracks and I seriously doubt that the stock cam specs are of much value to him. I could of course be wrong on this but i'll take my chances, He would probably have it in transit to a good performance cam grinder.

Mel is correct. The cam will be ground to my specs, or the cam grinder if he has something better. I just need the cam. I'm a little surprised it has been this hard to find
