Got a getwell present in the mail.

An old friend sent me this clock, as a get well card. It has my grandfather and dad's name in the sign and even the old 4 didget phone number. Our family dealership was franchised in 1932. I picked up the nice 1/16 scale D this fall, and have to intergrate both of them into my Flambeau Letter series toy display.

Thanks Jack.

You are welcome Loren. It has been a fun time getting this together for you. I should have kept a detailed report of the whole deal of doing this and keeping you in the dark with all the secrets . LOL It only took you 7 or 8 months to catch on. LOL

Well Jack, You certainly had me going for quite some time. You started asking some questions that only an insider would know about. I should have caught on sooner from your handle. Billy always called you "the old scovey".
In case the rest of you are in the dark here, Jack was a tractor jocky, who lived here in our little town and worked for several auctioneers, plus he had a young highschool lad, Billy, who was blessed with driving Jack's Ford Louisville rollback and literally stack tractors, discs, plows, rakes, and such any which way he could, to bring this stuff home for Jack.
We all had some rough times back in the mid 80s when the dairy industry took a real dumper.
Beth and I closed our dealership, and Jack went back to his old job driving truck for an interstate transport co. Billy bought his own truck and is still trucking. He has himself a nice late model Pete all purdied up and runs primarly day trips. He still lives a hop skip and jump from me, on the other side of US20, so I see him and his truck quite often when he is getting home. I often hear him leaving about 4:00AM too. wink.
Anyway, I'm rambling now. I will let the Old Scovey from Florida, fill in some gaps if he wishes to. It has been nearly 30 years since we had our final auction at the dealership, and went our seperate ways.
Thanks again Jack.

Well Thanks again Loren. It sure was nice to make contact with you and Beath again after all those years. I so wish we could do it again even if we didn't have a lot of money. I wish our people on here could sit down with you and me and let us tell the story's about our life back then. Billy sure could pile on a load of tractors etc. The time I got so mad when he came out of Geneva In. 15.4 wide he even came across the I 90 scales East of Cleveland O. and got away with it on a Sat. night. I thought there would be a bunch of bicycles ,mail boxes and maybe a few old drunks hanging off the tongs etc. I did tell him to never do that again but I know he did if I wasn't looking. You also had some good people working for you. Remember the old Moline fork? We got to get together for an old time BS talk. It's a long ways from where I live now to your place but maybe some day. Come down to Fly Wheelers and stay here ?? Will talk soon.

nice gifts, loren. i had to call my brother to get jack's last name. my brain kept getting hung up on a local guy with the same first name.

Loren, I have admired your wall for a long time, but have wondered where the picture of the Flambeau's came from.
