anyone heard of this? 188 gas in 630 came from combine little sticky from sitting, finally turned over by hand then starter. lube in cyls and started. lots smoke and a miss at first. got better and better, no smoke etc. each time I used it which isn't a lot runs great. used for an hour four days ago. couple days later backfired finally started bad miss. made it into shop. comp check showed no comp on no. 4. push rod had jammed between rocker and hole in block one other rod was bent. upon fixing the problem with other rods , no 4 valve would not keep up to rocker arm upon cranking. with some lube it finally started to work. started tractor and ran great. did not rev it up but ran fine any ideas what has happened?

(quoted from post at 05:10:53 11/07/15) Have you got good fresh gas in the tank? Old gas will cause valves to stick in the guides. Put a quart of tranny fluid in the tank to give
some lubrication.
wow some of you guys sure have the answers. as a matter of fact yes the tank is very gummy. it also ran down on fuel so that would not have helped. think ill try to clean it out. thanks ever so much for that info. once again I say this forum is so helpful,

Often a stuck engine not only has stuck pistons but also stuck or sticky valves. The push rod may have bent slightly in the first efforts to free the engine. I learned that one the hard way myself. Now, I pull the rocker arm covers and verify the valves are free first.

I agree BUT DRAIN ALL of the gas out and start over, I have seen this several times that old gas is bad news, if it has it in the tank that too needs removed or you will be here again BTDT
