Epoxy vs Press Fit Compound

I have a tach drive gear that is press fit, however it is no longer snug. I have received many good recommendations on this site for Loctite and Permatex products to fix this, however no local suppliers have heard of these let alone have them. Did find some epoxy's that have very similar properties and are good on metals. Would any of these work or possibly JB Weld. Don't won't to wait till next week to complete this step.

Press fit compounds are designed to lubricate an interference fit to hopefully prevent galling, if anything it would allow the parts to separate more easily. If the parts fit snug (stay put by themselves) definitely the loctite. If loose, I'd knurl the surface by hand to help the fit and again, use loctite.

Fastenal will have it or can get it in a few days, I buy mine from a local Car Quest dealer they stock it,, you can also just use red Loc Tite, I would not use JB weld as once you do its there,, but your call,,,, another option is to use black silicone or a product called the Right Stuff, just Do Not use so much you will push it into the cam/oil area,, your machine do what you like just my suggestion, also to me expoxy I would not use as it will run into the engine before it sets
