I celebrated by taking my sara to DR and getting flu shotz,, once home I oiled up a nice low houred but neglected and abandoned to the elements nh 855 round baler that seemed to be creaking like the" tin man of wizard of oz ,, OIL CAN ,OIL Can "it is NOW happy again ,,.//// family folklore ,says that my mom hand pikt corn 4 days strait in a row with 2Good neighbor ladies,,. mom was restless , the 10 acres of corn needed pikt, dad workt in town and we milkt too ,LONG HOURS . it was indian summer, then a cold front came ,,. and guys just like me just want to get out and meet the world when the barometer bounces , but I gave my mom a longer than normal labor ,and messed with everyone especially the Dr who had virtually no rest the nite before .. after all day the poor young Dr decided I was just teaseing and at 4:pm went to his car to go home,. the janitor neighbor stopped him as he was leaving and said it was time , by the time he got there to moms side it was all done but the mopping up ,,. sadly . everyone has been moppin up behind me ever since ,.. LOL

And a mighty fine Happy Birthday to you!! Thanks for the story of your birth. Things were a lot tougher in those days for the women as well as the men. Hoping you have many, many more Happy Birthdays!!

Jim.

Happy birthday. Always enjoy your stories. I always called our DC the old gent, so whenever I see your handle I think of the Big Horse in its day! Thanks

all my great uncles had at least one DC..they always refered to them as Old Gent, maybe not an original name like I thought .. makes a guy wonder if you did , and my folx did , than perhaps that nickname came from somewhere besides here ,??..

the DC is a Real Hoss,. simple and economical . plenty of spirit and gutsy ,. rugged tuf ,, but yet surprisingly nimble ,, and most of all dependable

Well Jim, Happy Birthday, and have you beat by a couple years, but that's ok, like you I have lots of work to do and not a lot of time to "celebrate" another one. But still waiting for my layered cake, maybe I will get it again sometime!
It was like when I was born, my Dad went to the area where they kept the babies, and Dad said to the nurse I want to see my son, she said your looking at him he is right there, he said no he was just born, this one is holding his head up and looking around. She said that is your son! HeHe, Dad said I was already looking for new customers! I was over 9 lbs, so basically ready to go! HeHe

Just think you are almost half way to 120 that will make you feel young again. I am 75 and retired and so busy doing nothing that I hardly have time enough to get it all done. Happy Birthday Jack
