Case DC engine questions

Are all case dc engines basically the same except the cylinder bore? I have a project that getting a running engine would be a great help thanks for any imput.

Maybe someone more knowledgeable will comment on this.
I was once told the engines of the same era that Case put in combines were basically the same and could be bolted on to a DC, the main difference is they did not have sleeves so no option to put in an out of the box set of pistons and liners.

Totally not true. The DE unit used on Combines was the same exact engine. Engines installed '53 & later were 4" Bore, instead of the previous 3-7/8", but all had Sleeves.

You may even get really lucky and find a D series engine with 4 1/16" M and W high compression pistons and sleeves. Good Luck with your project. Don
