My 1570 started leaking transmission oil from around the starter hole. It's a serious leak and can't use the tractor. Anyone have experience with a leak from this area and/or an idea of a fix for it? Looks grim?? Thanks in advance. Transmission otherwise works fine with no other symptoms.

Well, the bell housing is wet with transmission oil which is normal so the flywheel is throwing it around and the starter gasket or an internal seal within the starter may have failed. Just remove the starter and inspect. Unless something tragic has happened which is unlikely it should be an easy fix.

This is a very rare complaint.

THANKS MeI!!! One new homemade gasket and I'm back in business. Disced for a couple of hours and no leaks. Thanks again for your insight. Glad it was a simple fix
