1970 Case 770 Agri King hydraulics problem

Hello, I have posted a couple of questions concerning my tractor a month or two ago. I have issue with my tractor hydraulics. It seems to be isolated to the remotes. The 3 pt seems to be working fine and steering and brakes seem to be okay. My gauge for my hydraulics is barely in the green above the yellow side but in the green none the less. When you try to retract a remote cylinder it won't retract. It seems like it might try just for a second but, no movement. I feel like it would extend if the cylinder would retract. I had an issue a month or two ago with one of my levers engaging itself causing an issue with it overheating. I found that problem and fixed it recently a little ball for valve had fell out during a hose replacement I am assuming. Does it sound like I need to replace the valve assembly. I would hate do all of that and then find out it is the pump too. Sorry for this being so long but, any help for my issue would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried hooking up different implements to it?
It almost sounds like your hoses are not hooked up right.
My 970 the top two couplers are a pair and the bottom two are the second pair.
If you are hooking up left, left as a pair and right, right as the second pair it will do what you are describing.

It is hooked up correctly. The problem started with the retraction being very slow but extending the cylinder was good and strong. Now, it will not retract at all. Before I spend the money on another remote valve assembly which is 500.00 or so used. I was just wanting some insight so I can maybe fix what i have without replacing.

Did you try swapping the hoses around to the other circuit?
Swapping around the two hoses on the circuit that is giving you problems?
Try the implement on another tractor.
Just trying to narrow down where your problem is.
Does one hose get stiff when you move your control lever?
If so you are making pressure at the hose but the return path may be your problem.
Just a few options to check out.

The original female ends seem to be long gone. These appear to be something that maybe came from TSC.

If you switch the hoses around and try it, the cylinder should retract but not extend. If that doesn't happen then you have problems with the cylinder or the tips.

Please do yourself a favor and check main relief pressure both cold and hot oil, get a gage and a remote tip and try all 4 ports.

The valve can easily be resealed and new o rings put in the relief valve cartridge, the most probable cause of low pressure. If the valve has been over heated the thermal reliefs in the RH end cap may be warped but that will cause implements to leak down.

A flow test at the remotes would be the ideal way to isolate the problems but not every one has access to a flo meter.

Tips have been an issue but getting the valve and pump evaluated is the proper first step.

The steering and brakes are on a completely different circuit with their own pump which is a part of the main pump.
