430 Construction King Opinions.

When I was operating my small farm I had three 400's. One of then I had a loader on to clear the driveway, and other hauling chores like hauling wood/coal to the house. Last winter it was really getting hard for me to climb on and off of it. So, I started looking for a shorter tractor to use. I had my sites set on finding a 430, or 530 construction king. What I settled on was an International 340 gas, that has a Wagner loader mounted on it. It has tow new rear tires, and one new front. The other front is in good shape. Anyway, like any older tractor it needed a little work. What I found out is that any parts I needed were hard to find, and cost an arm and a leg. Now I'm thinking about selling this tractor for a Case. I have found a 1965 Case 430 Construction King with a loader in it that is within 100 mile from me. I haven't went to look at it yet, but did communicate with the owner. The tractor looks like it didn't see much time in a shed, but it doesn't look all bent up either. The owner says it runs good and everything works on it. I Know all you Case guys will tell me to switch to a Case tractor, but what I'd like to know is; are parts hard to fine for these tractors, and will they break my bank account buying them?

430CK's are very good strong units, nimble a very user friendly, parts are around, aftermarket do carry some as well,, lots made and engine/powertrain was used in a Lot of models

A 430 Construction King is lower than the row crop version but you might want to build a set of purpose built set of steps to make getting on and off easier and safer.

I love my 430s best,, but like you don't like rippin out my jeans with that hi step I gotta take to get on, and the jump to get down is hard on my trik knees , after about the 15th time in a day ,. got lots of ideas . for a lower step pushaway stirrup and a solid step too ,, but have not done neither since I switched to wearin bibs instead of jeans,. LOL,.another thing I do is remove the battery cover and hang it on a nail in the shed . drape a plasticfertlizer bag over the battery , the opening allows a handy hand hold and also allows a water jug a place to ride or a plastic ice cream bucket for tools ect the 430s are 50 yrs old now ,, but there are lots of parts available, there are lots of folx devoted to keepin old cases productive ,, they are reasonably priced too .. BUT YOU GOTTA KNOW WHERE TO LOOK AND WHO TO CONTACT, you don't have to look far here , a 340 ihc is a decent small tractor .sadly if all you did for parts is visit your ihc dealer ,, yes , then stiker shok can kill your love for ihc , ,. the earlier Case 200 -600 series are good ,,the 30 series that followed are even better..you can find a gasser 430 with eagle hitch and manual steering that aint no better than the early 100 series when it comes to handling and reliability ,,. if you are real lucky , you can find a low houred 188 diesel with traction lok , hydrostat steering, draft control and remotes that will last you a lifetime..you will be amazed at how little fuel they use

I've owned several case tractors over the years. My list is, 41 SC, 47 VAC, 50 VAC-14, 50 DC, 52 DC, 53 DC, 58 411B, two 55 400's, and a 56 400. My last 400 is for sale now. I would really feel more comfortable owning a 430CK as opposed to the IH 340 I have now.
