I know there is probably a thousand posts somewhere about this. But I'm having trouble with my 1978 995 3rd arms not raising or lowering.so any advise where to look on here would be helpful.

Assuming the pump is good and the filter isn't clogged and the hyd oil isn't 90% water, you need to start by cleaning the tiny filter in the valve under the oblong plate between your seat mount and 3 pt control. You need to CAREFULLY remove the valve with the hole showing in the top. A pencil will usually fit and if you lightly screw it in you can lift it out. BE CAREFUL NOT TO DROP IT! There is a passage int he valve that can get clogged and a tiny screen in there. There is also a check ball, allegedly, but mine been missing since before I got it and it works fine. Use a solvent and low pressure air to clean it out, polish the outside so it slides easily and see if that helps.

Thanks for the reply Bret4207. But yea, new filter and oil don't have 10 minutes on it. I just got don rebuilding the bottom end on this thing.
I pulled both caps out Saturday and cleaned the springs, ball, jet looking screw with hole in it, little washer with 3 holes in it and the little screen. The valves are stuck big time. I've tried pencils, whiddled on dow rod, and even an easy out. Its been soaking in PB since Saturday afternoon, so maybe today is my lucky day.
