Spent the last 2 days chopping silage. Went really well this year, the corn was the best in years. This year we cut half the acres and got 50% more tons than last year. Weather was good and the fields were pretty good.

We did find some mud tho, just enough to remind us we live in Pine County.

My son Nick even came up to help.

That is a 2394 with the 6 spd power shift. It is an awesome tractor. I overhauled the engine on it a couple years ago for Jeff. None of this stuff is mine, I just help Jeff with his work so he lets me play with my old stuff in his fields for fun. Didn't get to use any of my stuff for this job tho, but will later this year.

Looks like a great corn crop Jon. What is the common day corn planted in your area? Like the pics, Rod.

Most plant around 95 day corn around us, this is 90 day. Jeff likes to make sure it's dry early for picking so his picking corn is 85 day.
