Once the PTO shaft is out it goes out the inside. Check your back lash, and gear alignment when it goes together. Mine were WAY off. No wonder they went out.

Its been a while but I do not recall having to remove the front shaft. Push it forward as it might have slipped rearward a little when the gear and bearing was removed. Maybe you have, but the pump has to be removed so a key in the shaft can be removed. Rod.

Hi,

You will have two shafts total removed. The one behind the pto and the one at the beveled gears.But you must remove the pump to remove the key
