Case 930, 3 point hydraulic issues

My 930 3 point will lift, but only when the engine is rev'd fairly high. It will drop, but when using an auger today, as soon as the auger hits the ground the 3 point will no longer lower. I am fairly new to tractors, do I have a pressure issue? Also, I have to really push the lever to the max both forward and back to lower and raise the 3 point. I mean I really have to push it. Lastly, what is the deal with the hydraulic fluid dipstick? It has the adjustable slide, so how do I know what my level should be? On level ground it is currently about 4 lines up from the bottom of the stick.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

What does the hydraulic oil look like? When was the last time the hydraulic filter was changed? When sitting on the tractor its under your left foot below the platform. These are simple hydraulic systems so start with the simple things 1st.

Your adjustable indicator on the dipstick is set properly, 2 notches down from the top. The notches are numbered 1-6, with 1 at the top. Fill to the indicator.
Not quit sure what you mean by "really have to push to max on lever." If it moves hard, there is a friction disc and adjustable belvue washer to control how hard the lever moves.
Your 3pt. does not have down pressure so your auger will stop when it contacts the ground. 3pt auger can be ornary about getting them to dig in.
For us to help you, you need to get a hydraulic pressure gauge (3000#) and fit it with a male coupler, and plug it into each tractor coupling, and then get back to us with the pressure readings. That will tell us a lot about the condition of your hyd. system.

Previous owner said it was changed earlier this year. The oil seems "clean" to me.

Thanks. Previous owner said that he measured 2,000 at the remotes. I will get a gauge and check myself. What pressure should I have?

Thanks.
