My Case 1150 dozer began to smother down, then regain rpms. It would level out and then smother down again. Needless to say, it had no power when trying to push. I changed fuel filters. It cranked. Ran a minute and died. Will crank on ether but dies when it burns it up. I tried bleeding the injector lines, but I am getting no diesel from any of them. I AM getting diesel from the filters to the pump. HAS MY INJECTOR PUMP GONE BAD? The engine is either a 401 or 451. I cant find any number plate. (where should it be located?)It is not turbo charged. The dozer(and engine)was built in 1968. The engine is the style that came in 1270 and 1370 Case tractors.

no injection pump did not go bad don't happen like that, just bleed filters properly. when it ran a minute it just used the fuel that was there.

This dozer has no fuel transfer pump. I filled the filters full of diesel and put them on. Give me a hint about what else I need to do.

Just taking a guess here, but I would re-fill the filters.
Could you get a little air pressure into the fuel tank, to help push fuel thru? (You probably would not have to refill the filters if you could)

there has to be a bleed screw for the filters. you just dont fill filters with dirty diesel and put them on. if there is no pup then its gravity that fills them. look for a small bolt for 7/16 wrench and loosen till air comes out then tighten. i am not familiar with this engine just giving info. even if you crack the injection lines may help. once fuel starts leaking out tighten them.

welcome to ' run out of fuel class 101 '. your motor starved itself to death .for starters . You can have a full tank and get this problem ,,. what did the old filters look like ? .. MORE THAN LIKELY , This IS YOUR PROBLEM in a starved fuel condition ,, Air compresses.. but FUEL DOES NOT , each time you ether the motor it is compressing a airlock that will not move on thru ,.. simple fix , loosen a couple injectorlines and crank the motor till fuel arrives at those leaking fittings , you must GET FUEL THRU , then it will start..
