Case grader blade

I am just seeing if anyone out there might have a Case grader blade that they would want to get rid of. I have a big 400. Would like the 8 foot but doesn't have to be. I live in southwest Indiana. Thank you and hope you all have a great Labor day weekend!!

I'm looking for one myself for my 411.Not much out there. Chuck

Are these blades designed to be adjusted from the tractor seat? If so, can you explain how the mechanism works? I know I'll never find one of these Case blades, but might be able to modify one of my blade to work like the Case blade does.

the handle is bent a bit on this one,,, but yes you can grab the handle, push down on it and release the lock pin,, then the handles hook on the end will grab in a adjustment hole and you can turn it where you want and release the handle and she locks in place, another shot of it at work a few days ago

Hate to tell you Chuck, but I've got four of them also.
Here's a picture of two of them. I'd like to find one with the rake teeth attachment.

You guy's are just showing off, or being greedy. Let a few of us have a chance at one of these. :D

I'm no Joe, but here's my attempt at labels. As Tom said, just push down on the lever from the tractor seat (1).
The lever will pivot at horizontal pin (2). This will simultaneously raise the locking pin (3), and raise the pointed hook underneath at the end of the curved arm into one of the adjustment holes (4). Then the lever and blade will together move left or right on the axis (5). Just release the handle to lock the pin back down.

Thanks for the explanation. That is a pretty cool design. Does the main swivel point for the blade ride on tapered bearings? That's the key to making this design work smoothly if it does. I always toyed with the idea of adapting a hydraulic cylinder to swivel a back blade. I've seen them on large expensive blades in the past. It would be easier to do that than trying to copy the Case design.

I'll try it again. This image is a bit simplistic but it gets the idea across. One of my blades has a missing handle, busted and
lost before I bought it. I was thinking of adding a cylinder something like this. Just remove the handle parts and locking pin.
I don't think a guy would loose too much range of angle using the last hole on the blade. As you can see the blade is angled quite
a ways already with a couple of adjustments to go. Of course, none of this will likely just fall together. You may have to
fashion a bracket on both ends to make the cylinder line up properly and not bind but I think the general idea is sound. Some
measuring of cylinder stroke would be advisable also to get the correct range of motion.
I should also add that this example is on a later model blade made for swinging 3 point arms for newer tractors. If you look at my
previous picture of the box blade, that one has the eagle hitch style attaching points. If that's what you have it would take some
additional head scratching or a whole different design entirely.

The blade that I do have isn't a Case blade like the one in your picture.......it's a John Deere blade. I'm going to give this idea some more thought though. Who knows, maybe I'll run across a Case grader blade sometime.(?)

I am not showing off as for Greedy,,, I do like my CASE,,,, I have worked my a&& off for the last 40 plus years to collect what I have,,, I will stop showing what I have if some think I am greedy,,, I did not mean to come off that way

I was just teasing you about your collection of Case grader blades. Keep on showing us your collection. I like seeing Case equipment. The blades you showed us is the first time I ever saw one of these, and think they look pretty slick. How long did it take to find four of those blades? There is one on eBay right now, but it would be a nine hour drive to get. I'm tempted to buy it, but I have to consider the cost in gas, and a motel room, to go pick it up.

They are a challenge to find,,, the first one my uncle bought in 1952 used,,, 6' next one we sold new in 1967 with a 530 dsl, it has side plates and scarrifers 6' as well,,, then the last two both 8' units,, one was found one here and I traveld 250 miles one way to get, the man I bought it from traveled 150 or so one way to meet me, the other a friend seen on auction and I bought it, 120 miles one way to get,, so I guess 40 years or so,,,,, I forgot I also have two other DANUSER blades as well, one is a IH one that was FAST HITCH when I got it, I changed to 3pt it is a 8' and a 6' DANUSER one, so I am rethinking my #'s,,,

I guess 250 miles wouldn't be too far to go after one of these. Now you have me thinking about the one on eBay some more. Is the price for the one on eBay in line?

That one looks straight from what I can see of it and looks to have a good cutting edge,,, those are "pro's" to me,,, it has been repainted and is missing at least one tag,,, two strikes if you want a original, guess it depends on how bad you want one,,,

I'm going to wait for awhile. I'm sure the one on eBay isn't the only one left. Another one will pop up sooner or later.
