Case 1170 Hydraulics Question

I have what may seem to be a silly question. I have an 1170 and it has water in the hydraulic fluid. I know I need to drain it and replace the filter. My question is where is the hydraulic oil filler? Is it what the owners manual calls the hydraulic "breather" at the rear of the tractor under the fuel tank? Also, are the hydraulic reservoir and the transmission oil reservoir the same. In other words, are the hydraulics and the transmission drawing from the same 64 quarts of fluid?

Thanks for the reply. Do you add the new oil at the back of the tractor under the fuel tank? On the left side of mine, as you are looking at the rear of the tractor, there is a cap with a "T" handle on top just to the left of the hydraulic pump. This looks like where you add oil, but I want to be sure there is not another place under the platform or somewhere else.

The OP manual showes the complete procedure for servicing the hyd filter. Be very careful to reinstall the cold oil relief cartrige, item #4 and not leave it in your drain bucket.
The cap in the canister can be dificult to remove.

In addition, don't hit the canister with a hammer trying to free the cap. It will break, even little taps are bad. An impact wrench works well for me on stuck ones.

That is what I thought but wanted to make sure. Does anybody have any thoughts as to how water got in the oil and what else I should be looking out for because of it?

My 8 speed gets a little water in it over time. My powershifts don't...

Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate the help.
