I hope to go to the Big Case auction.

I hope to the auction on Saturday. I have a few questions about what you all think some items will bring. There is a three bottom MTA plow. A E7 sickle bar mower. What do you all think the E7 fits, is it a eagle hitch mower. A pull behind sickle bar mower. A SE power unit. The LA Case. I would like to corner the market on the Case sickle bar mowers. Thank you for the help.

I used my EDSC 7 on my SC for a while and it sure shook the living crap out of the tractor and the owner/operator! Perhaps snugging up the Eagle Hitch arms with new bushings and the wear in the mower might help............ Mine is parked in the row under the trees............Nothing but plug city with that unit

Something is not right with your mower Old proud vet. We run ours on a sc and vac both and we don't have a shaking problem, but when the gaurd plates and sections get wore bad it will choke up Badly

shux you guys ,I have mowed alfalfa in 3rd gear with my VAC , it has a mounted Detroit harvestor mower, I would bet a dollar to a donut that your bushings are worn beyond worn out ,, absorbing too much of the knife travel ,, which does not abruptly cut too and fro , but simply glides about one half the full travel ,, the travel lessons dramatically as rpms increase ,,. when that occurs ,, it will deffinately plug and do a poor job cutting and literally shake a tractor silly ,,.it is easy to understand and fix ,, ford sells the bushings for a Dearborn detriot mower , that case put their name plate on ...

I had this Case mower and years ago, I sold it to a friend, Bob, who made some modifications to carry it on an 8N Ford 3 point. The 8N was too fast in low gear to cut prairie grass so he quit using it. A few months ago, he wanted to know if I wanted it back for my Case collection. I am too old to still be collecting so I said no. After seeing your post, I emailed my friend and ask some questions because I could not remember details about it.

The location is near Peoria, Il. Bob sent me this picture and the following comments. Are you interested in this mower?

Bob replied. Pretty sure it is 7' bar and set up for a hyd cyl lift. The front has been modified.... partially by me to use a 8N 3 pt hitch pins on the front plus I added a bar for the top link so I could raise the whole thing off the ground with the 3pt hitch. the curved bar had a chain down to the axle so it raised the bar when I raised the 3 point. It has a single castered rear wheel with a pneumatic tire. I changed the tire tube due to a 22 cal rifle hole way back when I was trying to make it work for an 8 n ford. I think it still holds air. I also replaced the drive Vee belt back then. The ford was way too fast in low gear. It is missing some of the stuff for the ball at the sickle.

FYI. The mower that I posted below is now in my possession. Will sell it cheap as is or work towards restoring it and making it usable with a Cat I quick hitch. If you have any interest, I could send you more pics and more details. Its main problem is being rusted up. It does not show much wear.
