case 1070 power shift

Looking at a case 1070 with power shift. Ower states that the tractor moves in all gears but slows and stops with a load attached. He thinks the power shift clutches need replaced. How much will it cost to fix. Any thoughts or suggestions. I am looking at the tractor to pull my round baler. makes a 5x6 bale. Thanks in advance for help and thoughts.

If the powershift seems to work good in all ranges till a load is applied, I would be more inclined to suspect a worn torque limiter. The clutch pressure is crucial and should be checked at the flodivider where the dash gage hooks up. It should be 180-210 in all ranges, a low reading in any range would indicate clutch leakage which can be pinned down by trying different clutch combinations, readings in each PS range will help isolate the problem
