Am having difficult time getting my 630 to run. It is a diesel 188, am getting fuel to injectors and will fire with a little squirt of ether but will not continue to run as it should. The intake manifold smells of rat crap and am wondering how difficult its removal will be and if there is anything to know about be fore removing and cleaning. Anybody?

sorry man ,, we have all been in the field ,,, you will get a lot of responses come winter ,,, have you drained the water trap under the tank ,and the water out of the filters ???,, that needs to be done once a week ,..ok ,,.., has the intake manifold air breather been left open to the elements and varmints ???? if so by all means ,, give it a good going over ,,, what is the history of this 630?

, when did this 630 last run ?

/, and why was it parkled ? those clues will help diagnose the next step ,,. in all honesty , if you have fuel to injectors , and it is pulling air ,, it should run ,, however ,,, if timing is off , or someone has tinkered with the fuel pump ECT ,, lots of things could be wrong . to make this 630 or any engine not run ,,, if it will start and keep running , and the fuel is old try some lucas fuel and upper cyl ,. lubricate to help clear things up... also a qt of atf per 5 gallon fuel worx wonders ...btw ,, I have been running a 630 gasser today and this summer on a 1190 ihc haybine ,,. been hookt together for a month now ...

Thanks so much for replying. My 630 has not been run for about a year, replaced filters and loosened
high pressure fuel line to vent any trapped air, but to no avail. As I mentioned before the intake was open to the air and smells of mice/rat infestation. Didn't want to remove intake before asking about it, whether or not there is a sequence to that. I agree it should run with fuel, but is not. will let you know when I remove intake. Thanks Joe

The service manual does not call out a tongue sequence, but it does give a torque spec of 25 to 30 ft lbs for the Intake Manifold Stud Nuts.

Send me your email and I will send you copies of the relevant pages out of the 630 service manual. Joe [email protected]

Thanks for the help Joe, was able to remove intake and staring out at me from the head at cylinder 4 was a mouse that looked like he had been electrocuted. I removed him and / or his remains and cleaned up the manifold ready to go now. One more question the glow plugs in are Autolite BH 12- 1 12 v. What is everyone running their tractors for a replacement? as I sure styles are better now. Would you send me a copy of torque sequence on this motor, Please. [email protected]

Thanks so much for your reply, didn't think about you guys being in the field, my apologies! The tractor ran early last year but I was undergoing chemo and radiation and was out of circulation for almost a year. Back to normal now.. I pulled intake manifold and found a deceased mouse in head, 4 cylinder, cleaned up and will reinstall in the next day or two . I'm confident that tractor will fire and run, if not I'll ask for more advice. Thanks again for taking time to respond, I know you are busy this time of year.
