Case engine serial numbers

Are the engine serial number on a 70-90-94 engines all consecutive regardless of size? , 267, 336,401, 504 etc?

The engine in this 72 1370 is much later number(2528000) than any of the other 70's I have here(most are 230-2350000).

Bonus I see is the sleeve kit is about $400 cheaper for the later engine than what is supposed to be in there.

Maybe it was switched out at some time with a newer one. Is it a yellow 1370 and have cast iron oil pan? Seen some yellow 1270's that way.
