I was just given a Case SC (Serial #5619541). It's been in a field for a while. Not sure it runs. Where is the best place to get manuals for this tractor. Also, any info would be helpful on restoring this tractor. This will be a project for me and my son.

Possibly John Saeli or Don L. could help you out with the manual. You have a late SC with eagle hitch. It should be a great candidate for restoration. If you don't mind me asking where did you find it?

It's my father-in-laws brothers (down in Mississippi). We (son and I) were riding through their land and saw it. We asked about it and it was given to us. My wife took the pictures yesterday. I plan on going down in a month and cutting it out. They claim it has only been sitting for 10 years but I'm guessing longer. Also claimed that it ran when parked. The issue they said was hydraulics...

Can't imagine what the issue w/ the hydraulics could have been. They are pretty much "bullet-proof". Good luck w/ it!!

I won't know 'til I get it out. My wife and son were down there the past few days. My son (who is mildly autistic) is excited about it. He loves tractors!

well, without the exhaust being covered, you may find an engine full of water and rust and stuck tight. Or maybe not. I have a 52 SC just like that. I really like the machine, I wish you and your son well. It will be a great bonding time. gobble

Once you get it running, the first thing that you will need to assess is the clutch. It will probably need to be adjusted, and is the most difficult item to get parts for on that particular year SC (post 1951 tractors have a live PTO, and many of the traction clutch parts are different from those in earlier machines).
