Sealing drain plugs: is there a Teflon tape?

Getting ready to put the transmission drain plugs back in my '53 SC. I thought I'd heard of a Teflon sealing tape for oil-based fluids similar to what most of us have used for household water pipes. Anyone know? Not sure I want to trust the white Teflon household stuff to a 90W oil drain plug. The larger plug on my SC was nice and tight when I removed it, but it had been seeping ever so slightly over time. Now's the time to help it stay dry with the new fluid.

Teflon tape works Very well for oil,, wrap it on the direction it screws in,,, liquid Teflon is a joke if you have a spec of oil on the threads tape does not care

I don't think you would have trouble using white Teflon . I worked for Prentice log loaders for 39 years and that is what we used on all of the pipe threaded fittings.

There is a chemical resistant version of Teflon tape. I get it at Home Depot. it is yellow and a little thicker than the white.

I think most us army HET's hydraulic lines had abundant amounts of white tef tape applied to them. Stopped the leakage problems even with the hydraulic pressure involved
