Baled 53 bales for a buddy Friday evening. Not a bad deal for a $500 baler and $2500 tractor. The 830 won't pull the hills with a
mostly complete bale, in 1st on the high side.

830 must be a little tired if it won't pull the hills? I sold 830's back in the 60's they were a great tractor. I think we sold all diesel's. I don't remember ever seeing a gas unit. Dick, OR.

i have almost same setup 830 ck dsl and NH 852 auto tie wont pull uphill either with half or more bale but we make it work. nice pics

I used my 401 and a NH 851 for several years and it was a grunt, but it did the job. Would pull down and just go, 3rd or 4th gear kinda slow baling, but the baler was cheap. I've upgraded to a 1070 and recently picked up a clean low houred 830CK so it's like I've died and hit heaven already. The 400 is now relegated to the small sq baler, the 11 ft disk, and 4 bottom plow. It's not quite as much work.

Hope you make good money with that team, and buy some more CASE!

Great picture, love to watch people making money!

This is a diesel, and it would pull the hills in 5th if I dropped the COM. Doesn't help when you run them out of fuel and plug up the filters!
I have some wet meadows to do, that are rough and soft. That job will be in third or forth gear. What I was baling in the picture, is what we call hill hay. Might be making 1 ton per acre. Makes for a long ways between bales.
