Hydraulic Pump

Started working on gas tank leak and noticed that there was a large pool of hydraulic oil on the floor coming from my hydraulic pump ( 48' VAC with the High Pressure Pump off Belt Pulley ). Looks at though it's seeping from one of the shafts coming off the side of pump. Book doesn't show that shaft is removable, so wondering what remedy someone has used to stop similar leaks. Not sure what might work. Any ideas appreciated.!!

Do I run it through the pump, or coat the outside.? Worried that if I put it inside pump, it might cause issues with the pistons working properly.
By the way, saw nice pic of you and Sara at ST. Mary's Festival.

I assume you are referring to the control shaft. There is a packing with a gland nut that seals it. Will need a thin jaw 3/4" open end wrench to tighten it. Lee

Will check about that nut, but not sure which of the 2 is leaking for sure. Trying to get tractor back running, need to mow pasture down.
