Case VAC-14

I'm not positive, but could it be that is 14 in. lower than a VAC? On a VAC there is a flat platform and the VAC14 you straddle the transmission.

14 is similar in appearance to an 8N ford, 13 is a high arch version in the pic.

It is a serial system to identify the (standard) wheel configuration. The sheet metal, steering, and many other things changed on VAC tractors for the 1952 model year. This is when case introduced the new numbering system for the VAC tractors. This new system is similar to the system used with SC and DC tractors (ie. SC, SC-3, SC-4).
The following is a general description of the new numbering system.
VAC-11: Standard clearance with single front wheel (34" tires standard)
VAC-12: Standard clearance with dual front wheels (34" tires standard)
VAC-13: Standard clearance with AWF (34" tires standard)
VAC-14: Low profile (-2" shorter under the front axle than VAC-13, 28" tires standard, lower-speed working gear ratios and a higher road gear)
VAO-15: Orchard (Too many differences to list)
All of these models could be ordered with custom features including different tire sizes and different front ends.
