Got high centered on a stump in the hedgrow.

Well, things didn't go as everyone thought they would. Doctors turned me loose back last Wed. Did nothing strenious as they said. Didn't want to rip the plug loose where they accessed my vein to install stents. Friday, I got to feeling real bad, and had the wifey drive me to the hospital about 1:30pm. About 2:30 all ---- broke loose. Saw the hooded guy with a seyth headed across the field. Managed to get the old body in reverse and found enough bite to back off the stump, after 3 nitros, and morephene. The ER staff got me back functioning and did a CT scan, thinking that I may have a ruptured aorta. Nope, it was OK. Spent Friday night there, and BP went back to normal. Docs changed my meds around again. Came home Sat., with new meds, but things wern't wright yet. Couldn'd get up and go to the outhouse without my BP skyrocketing. Had another Angina type attack again Mon. afternoon, but a nitro pill took care of that.
Had a follow up appointment with my cancer doc. this morning, and wanted to take my hourly journal since Sun. morning with my hourly BP readings to the heart doctor. Got ushered in to talk to a nurse practioner, who filled in all the ?????? that the doctors didn't. She changed my meds again and this time I take the BP med twice a day instead of once, so there is no laps in my estimation. Beth and I liked her a lot, and am confident that we are now on the correct path. Feeling much better this afternoon.
Some of this may have been due to stress from setting on my butt and not being able to do any kind of work. Our garden is a full harvest, and the wife has been working into the wee hours to can and freeze vegies, plus be with me at the hospital, and I could do little to help her. I have to be doing something constructive to be happy. I was able to snip beans and shuck peas after Beth picked them. My big Case project was to change the color of an ornimental nome tractor to Case colors. That Red tractor just didn't fit. HeHe.
That turkey buzzard started hanging around the back yard Sunday, but I guess he got sick of waighting for me to croke. The wifey caned and froze 137 qt.jars and freezer packs of vegies last week. I am itching to finish the fireplace. Need to set the tile flue and finish the stone work, which I started before all this heart crap started.

Will be thinkin' bout you and got you on my personal prayer list. Do as your wifey and NP say and you will be finishing that fireplace in no time. Hard to think about sitting in front of it here, its almost 100F here in the shade and our corn, though late, is almost ready for the pickers and I see you still have roasting ears, I am jealous.

Loren ,
You take care of yourself .... things just have to be put on the BACk burner for awhile ... I haven't gone thur everything you have .... but I do know about the bACK burner .... I basely didn't do anything at home for over 6 months ...
So take it easy { I know that's hard to do } and them things will wait for you ....

YOUR in my prayers ................. mark

Mark,
The NP told me to keep moveing and to maintain my muscle tone. We discussed a plan where I can now balance my BP meds with my actual BP and activities on the fly so to speak. I have had a BP monitor for 3yrs. She wants me to stay active to keep my veins from closeing off. She isn't sugesting that I start lifting 200# rocks all day, but becomeing a couch potato is not good either. I have lost some weight, down to 206#, about wright for a 6'1" guy. Both her and my cancer doctor said that weight gain will be my worst enemy in coming years. Physical activity will help keep me healthy. I like her approach.

What an adventure you've been through lately! Hopefully your meds will now be the right ones for you. I really like the Case gnome. Don

Well Loren, sure glad you plugged back in here, your one of the old guard here, enjoyed your pics on the fireplace, oh man would love to have that. I know "wifey" is trying to keep you quiet for a while, but please my friend follow her orders.

Dan

Turkey buzzard is a slang term used for a Case tractor on the auction circuit, he wasn't waiting for you to croak he was just checking inventory! Hope you get straightened around there is nothing worse than not feeling good. You take it easy looks like you have a great family around you plus the ones on YT, now is the time for you to relax and lean on them a little, I know it's hard when you are used to gogogo and doing things but stress will take it"s toll. When I was down I was worrying about everything and you know what? Things just got done and everything just worked out.The things you worry about don't always happen. Talk to you later.

Loren, So glad you and Beth are handling the problems well. So times the NP have morre time to send and they give great thought to your needs. Take care and keep moving. Jerry

Don,
Runnings has them gnomes on sale at 30% off here. I may just pick up another one for Ss & Gs. Do you think Mark would put one in his special issue calendar?? HeHe.
I just finished up my first cup of coffee this morning and I feel much much better today and my BP is rite in the range that the NP and Beth and I set for me. As I said she took a practical approach to my lifestyle and issues, rather than a generic fix.
By the way, her name is Mary Martin, so I asked her where her green suit was. She told me there was only one certain someone that she wore that for, and no she couldn't fly either. HeHe

Hang in there Loren, don't mind those dang buzzards, they keep showing up around our place every so often and then leave again. The main thing is you are home and can recover. Soon you will be back to building stuff the rest of us can drool over. Rod.

Thank you for sharing your adventure with us. So glad you are doing better. We will pray for you every day and hope God blesses you.

Sure glad to hear you are back on the mend. If I could figure out how, I would love to coe cut firewood for you! Just haven't figured out how to make it work yet.

don't rush things either loren ,,, you mite wake up dead ,,it happens easier then most fellas like us think .....be careful around them hedge rows and watch out for thin ice ,,, easy now ,,.

Your writing is like no other, so glad to hear you back on here and that you are doing better. Your humor and wit are totally in tact and we're all thankful for that! Take 'er easy and follow those docs and nurse's advice!

Glad you are doing better. The stent wasn't bad but don't do like I needed to do a week after a by-pass and start moving 300 ft of fenceline using a post maul. It "really" hurts.
The gnome looks good.
