quiet a yellow 1370

my qawd ,, how quiet do you want it ??? are you straitpiped and hopt up for hosses ? or are you wanting to hear Brahams and Mozart, in stereo synphony ... ???my 1070 has a stock muffler with baffle that faces windshield ,, the door and back window out for summertime use ,,.. aint no problem for me to talk on cell phone while roading from one place to the other , I just idle bak half throttle ,. and I have no carpet in the cab ,,. YET !!

Cab kit, floor mat, insulation and sound barrier between the engine and cab, and spray under coating under the hood and cowl. You will be able to talk on your phone at full throttle.

You asked a respectful question. I wonder if like others have said the floor mat, I wonder if you could do something inside of the cab on the fire wall.

Sure you can use ear plugs and such, but there are other things, make sure lines under the cab are not rubbing or vibrating against the cab floor. How about your exhaust manifold? Cracked? position of your muffler, you want it at a angle of 10 o'clock

Everyone has given you some good ideas for making your cab more quiet. I run a 1470 and it has a cab bolted to the steel frame that really transmits noise in it. I want to keep it the way it was from the factory so other than a good floor mat there is not much I can do to make the cab more quiet. I purchased a quality radio head set to wear and wow what a difference. For less than a hundred bucks you can save your hearing and listen to the radio, I love it. When you remove them while the tractor is operating you will wonder how you ever put up with all that noise before. Rod.

I've not had much experience with the larger Case field tractors, but a neighbor and close friend bought a 1456 IH with the full factory cab, and he complained constantly about the noise. He said the only place noisier to be on that tractor might be to be in the crankcase at full throttle. His son in law was worked for an OSHA-type place that did all sorts of workplace testing, including noise, and he tested it and claimed you had to wear ear protection while using it. The SIL showed up one Saturday with a pickup load of foam rubber and duct tape. He also had a bunch of that foam gasket stuff with a sticky side they use to seal a truck cap to the pickup bed. After several hours of applying this stuff all over the inside of that cab, they fired her up and he tested the decibals again and claimed that it was then within acceptable levels. I had run the thing before and ran it afterward, and it did help the noise a lot--- although it looked kind of funny.
