Bi-County Cruise update

The old 811-B performed flawlessly, aside from my brand new seat torsion rubber assembly from a certain unnamed provider that starts with a stein. Not sure if made in china, but lasted about 10 miles. This was my first cruise with a Casematic tractor, not sure I can go back to anything else. We had a good turnout with a little under hundred entries, good weather considering the time of year, no major breakdowns, no injuries and damn good food. Now to start on the 900-B for next year!

I posted a shot of the hood of my 830 last week. Comparing it to yours. I'm jealous cuz you got a piece of stainless going down the
center 'n I don't! Lol...slim

It has all its stainless pieces still, though two are not in the best of shape for restoration. I would be damned to find out that the hour meter was in fact working and accurate, the beast rolled 2200 hrs this weekend. Which doesn't surprise me given the original owners use of it as a loader tractor.

We were not that far south, mostly in the Kansas/Charleston area this year (it moves area's every year). The park picture there was a detour through Walnut point state park in Oakland, IL. I had some more where the fast group passed us, but they were going too fast and mostly came out blurry.

I figured you would have them. Got the exhaust manifold off of you this spring. Will be calling with a big list of needs when I start on the 900 I'm sure.

My neighbor and I had a great time in the fast group, and have already put the tour on the list for next year. If you can try to make the Rockville IN Bridge tour the end of June. Am going this Saturday for a one day ride in Van Wert Ohio, meeting at the JD dealer..

Thanks for coming, I think everyone got a good kick out of your ride. Rockville is a short drive for me, so its on the list for sure.

I have gone through 2 sets of torsion springs on my DC. The first set lasted 4 hours. The second set lasted 5. Those things are poor quality.

Agreed, I've got an idea to fix mine with some more modern materials, but not sure how it will work out yet. If it works like I hope, I'll post my kludge fix and the parts I used.

(quoted from post at 19:41:53 07/31/15) Has anyone used the rubber seat springs from John Saeli? How do they hold up?

I have not, but they are probably higher quality. I'm just not sure the design is inherently made for the fuller figured male form bouncing on it all day either though. Rather than keep spending money on a system that has failed 2-3 times already, I'm gonna go the re-engineer (farmer cludge) fix this time. I got a Monroe Air-shock that we can adjust its pressure, will make a bracket to mount under the seat frame to allow full range of motion. That is the plan anyways.
