i have a case vac and the liner inside the fuel tank is flaking off and clogging the fuel system up. could i ccut around the side , than sandblast and weld back together? i already tried filling it with nails and strapping it to a tire.

I don't see why not. I can't imagine a
good used tank costing very much either.
Early and late models aren't the. Same
height though, so beware.

I have heard that you can get a chain and rattle it around in the tank and it will help clean it. I have never had a need to try it but it sounds like it would work.

I used this Eastwood system to line the tank and fix a pin hole leak on My VAC several years ago. No problems since. I have also used it on a generator tank and a Garden Tractor yanks. It is messy and takes some time but it works.
Eastwood Sealer

Most of those sealers have removal instructions that involve using acetone to dissolve the liner. Acetone can usually be sourced locally at reasonable prices, you might try filling the tank up in acetone and letting it soak for a few days, see if it dissolves your liner before cutting the tank up.
