So any camshaft other than the stock 377 available. My "understanding" the same camshaft was used in 500, 600, and 900
I also remember some talk about a early 60"s camshaft would fit maybe it was a 930 (can't remember)
There was talk using it and a 1030 intake manifold for pulling in modifided ???

TIA: Hemi

Someone might correct me but I think any camshaft from a 6 speed tractor will be the same. The 8 speeds with the slower PTO are different.

I did not think to mention that if you would like a higher RPM torque range, use the camshaft from an 8 speed 930/1030. Pump timing might need to change.

Interesting, that I have never heard of. Sounds feasible !!
Probably the only way to find out is find a wreaking yard that has both Camshafts and compare them.
I can get some injectors, that won't be a problem.
I think there was a guy @ Regina Diesel Injection Service who use to play around with those pumps. I'll try them. Otherwise I have a guy in California that I've used.

But i think the 1030 used a Harmonic balancer , or there was something different between the 930 and the 1030, on the front of the crankshaft.

So then maybe only 930 cam works???

Sure wish we could get someone who has done it to post on here. could save me a lot of time and $$$$

Thanks to all who have been good enough to post

Ok so finally got the specs:

377 cam jounals are 2.124" (case 500 & 900 )

401 cam jounals are 2.214" Case 930 and there were 2 different camshafts (there was a sticker on valve cover )

So to put a 930 high lift cam into a 377 block you have to line hone cam bore to fit cam.

Still think it's worth it so will be winter project.

Anyone know a custom grind cam company ???
