What do you think of Case 1070's

I'm thinking of going to look at a case 1070. I talked to the dealer that has it and they say it doesn't have any leaks they have noticed and it runs and drives good. they are asking $5000, its a white cab not the cream and I believe its the power shift transmission. just the paint is ugly so I would repaint it down the road myself. just wondering what you case guys think of these tractors and how good this series starts in the winter because if we got it we would use it for the snowblower

The price is not bad if mechanically sound but it would not be my choice for a snowblower. The power shift transmission is set up so that third range power reverse is the same ratio as third range forward. In a deep wet snow I believe you would be clutching a lot.

Others with more experience may have different thoughts and I hope they share.

I think I would like to have 1. They were popular in central Iowa. I never heard a lot bad about them. Some guys did not like the power shift-don't remember why.
