Hi everyone, i'm a new member and a new owner of a case 320 loader backhoe with the G148 gas engine. I have found online, the original case sales brochure for this unit but would like to know the year and any info on an air cleaner if it had one?! The serial tag on the left side of the steering column sheet metal is gone. From what i have searched and gathered it could be a late 1956 to 1959? Also i wondered what the G320 and the 320B variations are?? through the faded paint mine says 320, i will try to upload photos here. The unit runs, drives, digs, and scoops just fine, low range does not work (it just pops out) but for $1700 i cannot complain at all this unit is a workhorse and has surpassed all my expectations, what an awesome piece of history here...Any input would be greatly appreciated, i didn't see a spot on the forum where i could type in the model and go from there without combing through pages of posts. Thanks guys, Tim in PA

Welcome to the forum!

From the pics it looks like you have 320. If I remember correctly the 320 has a heavy grill and hood verses the 320B which has the lighter sheetmetal like the ag tractors.

Your tractor should have an air cleaner.
The air cleaner assembly is mounted behind the grill. It may still be there. It is connected to the carb with a metal tube with hoses on each end. I would not run it until you get one. I think the ag air cleaner is the same. I have a parts book for the 320 and also the ag tractors and will look. You could put a K&N style like the pullers use if you cant find an original.

I am working nights but, when I get a chance I will post some pics/info for you.

Here's a pic of my 320 with Case loader. It is rough and needs tlc,but I bought it for scrap price and it runs good. Nick

Wasn't the 320 built in 1956 & 1957 only? I didn't know there was a 320B, but then I get confused easy in my advanced age. The 320 was built with both gas & diesel engines so the G320 probably refers to the gasser.

The air cleaner assembly on the 320 gasser is mounted as this 310 and is identical except 320 has a cap inlet and the 310 just has the straight pipe. Mounting bracket is a little different also.

thank you for the info, very much appreciated, I don't have a tractor/farming background so I'm just getting thrown into this one. I work on heavy trucks so I'm sure I can fab something up for air cleaner if I cant find an original, thanks for the tip
