Electronic Ignition

Anybody here using electronic ignition? Have
an 870, and it seems like every time I rely on
it, it quits due to ignition trouble. Not to
mention none of the 3 local auto parts shops
keep anything for a prestolite.

I modified a Mopar electronic distributor to replace the original in my dad's vac last year, haven't had a moments trouble with it so far.

Just put one on my brothers 570 and it runs like a dream! Don't forget that if you put one on you need the electronic ignition module,a new cap and rotor to make it all work. It gets a little cashy but in the end you won't regret it.

I have switched my DC and a 1650 Oliver over. Pretronix is who I what use. You wont regret it. You can go to their website an find just what you need. Get a coil to match it when you do.

Another vote for Pertronix kits. Rebuilt the autolite dist on the 811-B we rebuilt with the pertronix, runs smooth and starts easy.
