Case 1845B - a different Roosa Master Pump other than stock

I know this forum is for tractors but searching the internet for answers I came across this forum and it seemed like there was a lot of knowledgeable guys on here so I figured I'd ask to see if any of you could help me out.

I'm having issues with the pump on my Case 1845B Skid Steer and I removed it to have it bench tested. While removing it I noticed it is not the same pump that is listed for my Case or whats in the service manual. The Roosta Master I have on the Skid Steer is a DB2-4183 and from what I can tell I am supposed to have a DBGFCC431-54AJ. Does anybody know if this is ok? Is this DB2 pump dumping too much fuel, running lean or is the difference negligible ? If anyone can give me some info or point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. I'd hate to dump money in to this pump just to find out it was never right to begin with. Oh my engine is a 188d

ok I appreciate you checking on that for me. The service manual I have shows the DBG model not the DB2 I currently have. Visually the difference is the position of the fuel inlet and the location of the connections for the injector tubes so I wasn't sure what the internal differences might be. I do understand that some things might change between years for the same models so if your books say that's the right pump then that's good enough for me. Thanks again

I lost all power while I was using the skid steer. One minute it was running fine the next minute it was like I was at idle even though I was at WOT. I barely got back Across my property. Since then I have had it running but it doesn't run for more than a few minutes and it has to be at full throttle to run that long. I changed the fuel filters, checked the supply lines and return lines, and bled the system several times. I pulled the lines off each injector and saw fuel shoot out each one but I assum it's either not enough or it's the injectors themselves. I read that these pumps are known to have pieces of the rubber seals on the inside deteriorate and break apart causing symptoms similar to what I am experiencing. Something else that led me to believe it was the pump is that while it is running and I have it at wide open throttle I can wiggle the throttle control arm on the pump itself and make the engine stutter. I plan to take the pump to a shop to have it bench tested and go from there. I just wanted to confirm this was the right pump before I went any further with repairs

Take the two screw timing cover loose on the pump housing, if it speeds up OK while fuel leaks out the pump needs serviced. Just got in a JD 4020 pump, and just finished an F-2 AC combine pump for the same trouble. The retainer ring is breaking apart, small bits are blocking the return side causing the power loss and sometimes shut down.

(quoted from post at 17:21:36 07/14/15) I did some checking in my parts manual and yes you do have the exact right injection pump A156736 for your 1845B uni loader jc

JC - is there anyway I can get a copy of that parts list from you or do you a have a link where it might be. I can find the parts list for the 1845, 1845S and 1845C but it seems like the 1845B gets skipped over. Even colemanequip.com doesnt list 1845b

So I found the issue, I tore the pump down and found that the rubber that holds the weight retainer cage to the center shaft had deteriorated. There were little pieces of it all through the pump. So I cleaned everything meticulously, replaced all of my seals and reassembled per the service manual. Now I would like to get it Bench Tested but the one shop I know of in my area (Denver, CO) wants $250 just to bench test. Does anyone know of a place I can mail this and get it tested cheaper?

FYI for anyone experiencing similar issues - There is a one piece cage that you can buy to replace the stock one or if you get a new seal kit off of eBay it will have a new rubber retainer ring (which is a b*#ch to get on) . From my understanding this is a common problem. After 1985 they did away with this design but if your pump is pre 85 you may experience this problem at some point. Also below is the link to the service manual
