early CC steering

While looking through a parts book I noticed the break down of the early CC steering gears up front on the gooseneck. It looks like it could have been faster and perhaps turn shorter as well. Anyone ever see one of these and had experience driving it. Thanks,

I have them on my CC. You are welcome to come to SD and drive it. It turns the same. Only difference is the steering arm is not in front of the manifold outlet.

Here is DKase's. Way to good original to repaint. Can only be original once ! With the old style cultivator, special to the early CC.

The early manifold had no elbow. The exhaust went straight out the side. With the newer style steering the exhaust would blow right on the chicken roost. I would not like to have a pretty new CC with the paint burnt off. Its either that or they overthought the steering.
