Can VAC-14 be converted to disc brakes? What's involved?

The drum brakes on the VAC-14 are VERY effective when they are adjusted properly. You have to be very light on the pedals or you will lock the wheels and slide when travelling in ROAD GEAR. The brakes actually get more effective with speed. They work similar to a set of electric trailer brakes: The friction force at the brake pads works through a lever to further increase the "normal" braking force on the brake pads. If your drums are pitted, you can have them turned by a good machine shop to clean them up. You can also have a brake shop replace the linings.
