Hoss,
Not sure what your mill is or how big, but I remember watching my grandad run a mill with a 48" blade with a Case L powering it. I don't ever remembering the blade boging down. When I was 8yo I got to drive the L solo, pulling a 16' spring tooth harrow.
Ifin I remember correctly, your 520 has a turbo also, so I don't think you will have any problem running your mill.
Perhaps your new found neighbor kid/friend whill help you tail the mill.
Happy sawing, Loren

Hoss in ME,

I'll be able to tell you better on Monday. We're belting the 500 up to a 50" saw for a "Breakfast on the Farm" event on Sunday. I'll report how it goes with some pics, hopefully. Don

Yup,it has a turbo on it that I put on.Also has an inline bosch that I jacked up on it.Stock I think the 500&520 tractors were 65 hp.Ive got 48 and 50 inch blades. Hoss

Ran a Simmonds 60" off a Case "400" and a Case LA. It would saw 48" Hickory and some 6o" Sycamore with no problem. However, if the saw got dull it would make both bark.
