In an earlier post is an "Oil Change Analysis Report". What struck me is that it says on the report, 240 hours. Wow!!. I change everything here @ 100 hours. How about the rest of you boys?

My tractors don't get used much. I change the oil every spring and fall. I change the filter once a year.

I change my 2290and 94 oil and filter at 100hrs, but my 8840 and 580SL operators manuals say 250 hrs for oil and filter.....

you are gonna luv me john wisht I had a working hour meter on this place,,. honestly I probavbly fall between 100-200 hours...depends on the jobs they have been doing and,how hard they work and how hot and dusty it is,.. nearly everyone uses a little oil because they are all very well broke in , but nuthin drastic always chek oil before going to field and I always ad lucas to my engines,,. keep in mind nearly everyone of my engines werenot runnin or barely running or judged worn out when I got them . with a little help from my friends , we have got them healthy and productive again,.. but none are tip top shape yet ,,, but I keep on striving to keep them drivin

My truck recomends 800 hours, but I change it at 20,000 miles which is usually between 5-600 hours. My tractors get a change yearly, but that's very few hours.

When I ran a maintenance shop, we changed oil and filter on all our diesel trucks and equipment every 200 hours. I don't remember to much detail from that far back, but I think that was the recommended interval. For the most part, everything warmed to operating temperature and then ran all day, everything was governed, etc., which is not very severe duty.
If I was starting a tractor, running it for 5 or 10 minutes, then turning it off, I would change much more often....

I change my gas pickup every 100 hours, which works out to every 5000 miles or so, and I use conventional oil.

Yearly, which is about 230 hours on 7140 and skid steer; roughly 40 on the 2590. Was running oil analysis and extended intervals on the 7140 and all was good at the 600 hour, 3 year mark with just filter changes per the book. At 3 years, I couldn't take it any more because that "just had to be wrong" and went to synthetic blend and yearly changes for about the same annual cost.

I attribute the long life to getting the engine warmed up good before shutting down. Wife's minivan was showing fuel in the analysis at 2500 miles due to lots of short trips carting the kids around.

i feel like the time it has been in there is more important than the run hours. i change mine yearly in the fall so the engine has nice clean oil while in storage all winter and is ready to go when i start it in the spring. i was surprised when i got some machines with hour meters to see that i was actually putting about 250 on there between oil changes. i don't feel like i use my stuff that much! sort of a reality check! i think 100 hours is good.
