VAC serial number

My grandfather had bought a VAC Case new.I'd like to know if there is a place to get the serial number of the tractor he bought?The tractor had been sold when I was a kid and I'd like to try to get it back.

I'm afraid you will have a difficult time finding the exact tractor w/o more information. The tractor originally had a build card and many of those listed the dealer it was sent to, but they would not have any info on the eventual buyer of the tractor. Do you have any idea what year and from who the tractor was purchased? There may be a small chance that some dealership records survive, but that would be almost a miracle after 60+ years. I hate to say this but you may have to settle for a tractor that looks exactly like your grandfathers but isn't his old one. His old one may even have been scrapped somewhere along the way. I would like to wish you good luck on your search. Searching and finding an old tractor is half the fun of the hobby. Don

The dealer he bought it from went out of business years ago.

What part of the country are you in? Somebody 'out there' might have a clue that could point you in the right direction
