Hey guys, so this is probably not the most educated question, but here it goes:
To remove the oil pan on a 2290 tractor, do I need to drain the rear end/transmission? I have what appears to be hydraulic oil dripping from the bell housing and stater area. Previous owner told me it has a wet clutch (I know my 930 does.. but that's the only Case I have ever dealt with, so is this in fact true?) Tractor didn't come with a manual, and I'm not planning to keep it, so I'm trying to be cheap.
I took the tractor on trade for a 4010 Deere I was going to part out, but the 2290 has a BAD BAD knock, gonna drop the pan and see how "terminal" it is, and if it's worth fixing (and possibly keeping), or sell as is, or part out.. I know it has powershift issues (says the P.O.), and it's not the nicest tractor in the world to begin with (but I'm positive it's far from the worst too!)
Thanks in advance guys,
Brad
