DC/SC umbrella or canopy

I would like to see how you guys have fit an umbrella or canopy to your sc/dc or other applications for that matter. Thanks

No fenders. This arrangement used the fender mounting brackets. Each side, I bolted a piece of angle iron to the fender mounting bracket. The angle iron extended horizontal rearward about 2 feet more or less. Another piece of angle iron extended upward at the rear of the horizontal angle iron. The two angle irons welded at a 90 degree angle. A suitable mounting plate for the canopy was welded to the top of the vertical angle iron. The brackets clear the tires about 2 inches. This matched the width of the canopy mount.

With fenders. The horizontal angle iron could be sandwiched between the fender and the fender mounting bracket. The U-bolt is probably long enough.

Mounted on right fender (actually fabricated a channel iron post that mounted to the base of the fender base) I use a nylon cord to stabilize the umbrella in the wind. A canapy would be sturdy but I think my umbrella looks better on the old tractor

I used umbrellas for years but graduated to the canopy. In hot July, I found the umbrella effective shade from about 10am to 2 pm. The canopy is effective shade to about 5pm.

The picture that I posted was taken in 105 degree heat around 2pm in July 2006. I was enjoying the shade.

I also use this DC on my turf mower and need to mow close or under trees. I find the canopy can brush under light tree limbs because of how it is constructed. Umbrella's and tree limbs don't mix.
