Transmission Gear

Working on my VAC-14 I found after I replaced the seals behind the brakes why it was low on gear lube. When filled the rear gasket leak real bad. So the project to replace gaskets started. after pulling the seat off the next item was the gear shift cover. First thing I see no gasket, no sealer no anything. Next when I look down the second/ fourth gear looks bad as shown in the photo. Beside that gear is the oil slinger suppose to look like that.
At the least I and in need of a new gear. I found that this gear is only for VAO and VAC-14's. The book shows it to be a VT-5155 (2nd speed 17 teeth, 4th speed 38 teeth).
Would anyone have a lead on the gear and the oil slinger if the is bad?

Will pull apart the case this weekend as I can feel excess play on the counter shaft so at this point its coming apart for bearing replacment

I don't have a lead on parts. But have you checked the brass inset in the reverse idler, mine was run low on lube and that brass was worn badly. You've probably already checked that, you seem to have a good handle on what your doing. best wishes gobble

Hi there, I have the transmission parts that you need, or the whole transmission from a Case VAC-14. Let me know. Give me an email back or you can call me at 610-767-8370 home and garage, cell is 610-428-6206, Thanks, Harold in Penna.

Thanks Tom for the reply. I did check the reverse gear last night when I took the photo. Looks to be in great shape with wobble on the shaft.
