Case 430 Draft-O-Matic

Hi there. I have a 1966 Case 430. Runs well. But the 3 point hitch (Draft-O-Matic) is not working. Its not at all responsive to the UP and DOWN controls. The piston moves in and out of the hydraulic unit under the seat, as the UP and DOWN is moved. It doesn't even try. Is there something that I am doing wrong? If not, where could I start looking for problems?

My 470 did the same thing when I first got it. Changed the fluid & filter, and found out it was 2 1/2 gallons low. Works great now that its full.

I have a 311, whenever I have hydralic problems the first thing I check is the fluid level.

Hmmm interesting. Yeah I changed the fluid and filter and filled to what I think is the full mar on the dipstick. I'll add a bit more and see what happens

Over filled the hydraulic fluid today and the 3 point hitch still isn't doing anything. I think I have a more serious issue

Is there an isolation valve somewhere that isolates the 3 point hitch?

Ok so, I now know that if I open the throttle wide open the hitch will lift, slowly. It will not lift with any weight on it however. I can stand on it and it will stop, it won't lift my plow at all. There is a draft speed valve on the control box; ive adjusted it and it makes no difference. There are no major leaks anywhere externally. Bad seals internally somewhere? Weak pump? I did just change the fluid and filter. A little crud came out but what you would normally see in a machine this old.
